Ntembeko obtained his National Diploma in Civil Engineering in 2006 from the Walter Sisulu University of Technology. After working for various entities including contractors and government institutions, he progressed to become a Senior Geometric Designer in a prominent consulting firm. In 2009 he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Technology (Transportation Engineering) from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University before completing a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Transportation Planning from the University of Pretoria in 2012. In 2014 he obtained his registration as a Professional Civil Engineering Technologist and later joined HN becoming a director of the firm in 2015. Ntembeko now serves as Managing Director, and head of the Roads and Transportation division He also completed his Master of Business Administration (from MANCOSA).

Zanele completed her Bachelor of Science honor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2010 from the University of Cape Town and continued her post graduate studies in 2014, completing a Master of Engineering degree in Project Management at the University of Pretoria in 2015. After working for a consultant for several years, obtaining experience in various highway engineering projects, she progressed to become a Senior Geometric Designer and Project Manager. In 2019 she obtained her Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) registration as a Professional Civil Engineer and later joined HN as a director of the firm in 2021. Zanele currently serves as a Director, and senior Roads and Transportation engineer.
PR TECH ENG, BTECH (CIVIL ENG) (CUM LAUDE), MSAICE
Graeme managed his own civil construction firm from 1997 to 2001. He then joined a local consulting firm, obtaining experience in a variety of civil engineering projects in the public and private sectors. In 2009, he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology (Urban Engineering) from the Durban University of Technology. He joined HN Consulting Engineers in 2010 where he managed the firm’s design office based in Pietermaritzburg, becoming a director in 2015. A former Managing Director, he is now head of the Urban, Structural, Water and Sanitation divisions.
joined the Natal Roads Department in 1974 serving as resident engineer for the construction of the N2 South Coast Freeway. He registered as Professional Engineer in 1978 and was promoted to Deputy Chief Engineer: Road Planning Design in 1990 taking a leading role in the planning and design of the road network in KwaZulu Natal. He served as director at UWP Consulting (now MARISWE) before establishing HN Consulting Engineers with Mutshutshu Nxumalo in 2002. In 2016 he received a formal commendation from the South African Institute of Civil Engineering ( in recognition of his contribution to the civil engineering industry. Now retired and a former Managing Director of the firm, he continues to serve as a mentor, technical consultant.
Pr Tech Eng
spent nine years in earthmoving plant management in the public sector before moving to the private sector, gaining further experience in training, construction and consulting. He has managed medium to large sized projects for numerous public sector clients. Projects that he has managed include road infrastructure, pipelines, sanitation and fire protection systems, as well as public private partnerships. Mutshutshu is a past president of the South African Road Federation (SARF). He now continues to serve as a mentor, technical consultant.
